Learn life-saving CPR and first aid skills with Adirondack Health and Safety N.E. LLC. in Glens Falls, New York. We offer training at our office or we can come to your business as well. Call us for more details.  

Our American Heart Association and ASHI training is great for everyone that needs or wants to know these life saving skills. Our program "My Time, Your Time Any Time" allows you to choose the time and day, and if we have that day and time available, we will bring you in and we'll train you for CPR, first aid, or both.

We also offer what is called ASHI (American Health & Safety Institute) and AHA (American Heart Association) "blended" classes. What does that mean you may ask? We know people have hectic schedules, and sometimes don't have the time to come in for a 2-4 hour class. What this does, is allows you to watch the videos at home on your own time. Once the online portion is completed, you  just need to call the office and schedule your hands on skills.  After that is complete, you receive your certification card(s). Classes are taught by American Heart Association and ASHI certified instructor.

NON CERTIFIED HANDS ONLY CPR PRIVATE SKILLS SESSION

If you are also interested in learning CPR, but don't need to be certified for it, we offer a private session called "Hands only CPR". What exactly is hands only cpr? Hands only CPR is a 30 minute private session for people who want to possess the skills and knowledge they need to save lives. Through this 30 minute skills appointment, you will be with me, the instructor, who will train you the skills you need to act in an emergency. You will learn how to recognize when someone is experiencing sudden cardiac arrest or someone who is actively choking, how to call 911, how to begin life saving chest compressions, and how to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). Hands only CPR is ideal for anyone that would like to be prepared for CPR in an emergency situation, but is not required to have a CPR certificate for work or school. This 30 minute private session costs $40 and you can bring one additional person for $25. If you are interested in learning Hands Only CPR, call 518-792-6146 to make your private skills session.

ASHI BLENDED COURSES

ASHI BASIC FIRST AID 

 

This course covers first aid basics and prepares students to deliver first aid in a safe and timely manner. Also shows how to prevent injuries and illnesses. ASHI Basic First Aid helps students develop basic first aid knowledge, skills and the confidence to respond. This program is and excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and conforms to the 2020 AHA and ARC Guidelines Update for first aid. This is intended for individuals who are NOT healthcare providers OR professional rescuers but desire, or are required to be certified in basic emergency medical care. The hands-on skills practice and testing are conducted in person with an ASHI instructor. After successful completion of the online and hands-on skills are completed, the student will receive an ASHI Basic First Aid Card good for two years. Online portion and skills need to be finished within 45 days. If you do not complete within that 45 days, an additional skill charge will be applied. If you call to make your skills appointment and you do not show up for your skills, a $40 rebooking fee will be assessed. 

ASHI BASIC LIFE SUPPORT

ASHI BASIC LIFE SUPPORT WITH BASIC FIRST AID

The ASHI Basic Life Support (BLS) program is for participants to gain or improve knowledge and skill proficiency in high-quality CPR skills and teamwork for the adult, child, and infant. HSI Basic Life Support (BLS) reflects the latest resuscitation science and treatment reccomendations published by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), and it conforms with the 2020 American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines update for CPR and ECC and the annual guidelines update. Continuing education hours available: Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Dental Proffesionals (AGD/PACE). The intended audience is individuals who are healthcare providers (in and out of the hospital), public safety proffesionals in a variety of occupaional settings, or individuals enrolled in healthcare and public safety career training programs who require BLS training. Please make sure your work accepts ASHI certification. Online portion and skills need to be finished within 45 days. If you do not complete within 45 days, an additional skills charge will be applied. If you call to make your skills appointment and you do not show up for your skills, a $40 rebooking fee will be assessed. 

ASHI CPR/AED

This course is an extremely flexible program that teaches how to recognize cardiac arrest, activate Emergency Medical Services and respond appropriately until additional assistance arrives. This also covers how to respond to urgent choking situations. ASHI CPR/AED is designed specifically for individuals and is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace settings. This extremely flexible program will help prepare individuals to respond to a cardiac arrest and choking situations. This program conforms to the 2020 AHA guidelines update for CPR and ECC. This course is perfect for individuals who are NOT healthcare providers OR professional rescuers but desire, or are required, to be certified in CPR and the use of an AED such as Emergency Response Teams (ERT), adult residential care, teachers, parents, and babysitters. Upon completion of the online portion, you will need to call and schedule you "hands on" portion. This will be conducted in person with an ASHI instructor. Students must perform required skills competently without assistance. After successful completion of the online AND hands on skills, you will receive your two year certification. There is an optional written exam when required by organizational, local or state regulation. You have the following choices to chose from:  Adult only CPR, Adult/Child CPR, or Adult/Child/Infant. Online portion and skills must be completed within 45 days. If you do not complete within 45 days, an additional skills charge will be applied. ASHI ADULT BASIC FIRST AID & CPR/AED COMBO

This course gives students comprehensive training in emergency care, including basic first aid, CPR and how to use and automated external defibrillator (AED). This course builds the skills and confidence to respond to the most typical life-threatening emergencies. ASHI CPR/AED and basic first aid combination training allows instructors an easy option for students seeking a comprehensive training class. The program helps develop basic first aid knowledge and skills, with the confidence to respond. CPR/AED and basic first aid combination training is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and conforms to the 2015 AHA guidelines update for CPR and ECC, and the 2020 AHA and ARC guidelines update for first aid. This course is perfect for individuals who require or desire CPR/AED and first aid knowledge and skills for people like: Emergency Response Teams (ERT), adult residential care personell, teachers, parents, and babysitters. Students must perform required skills competently without assistance. ASHI PEDIATRIC BASIC FIRST AID & CPR/AED ADULT/CHILD/INFANT 

This course provides an ideal training solutions for schools, child care providers, youth sports coaches, and others required to learn how to respond to medical emergencies involving children. ASHI Pediatric CPR/AED and basic first aid training program provides and ideal training solution for schools, child care providers, youth sports coaches and others required to learn how to respond to medical emergencies involving children and infants. This versatile program is based upon the 2020 CPR and first aid guidelines, caring for our children, 3rd Ed, and other evidence-based treatment recommendations. This program is perfect for school bus drivers, child care workers, teachers, parents, and babysitters. Students must perform required skills competently without assistance. After successful completion of the online portion, students will need to call and schedule the "hands on" portion.  This will be conducted in person with an ASHI instructor. After successful completion of the online AND hands on skills. You will receive your two year certification. This class has the options for: Adult, Child, and infant, or Child and infant only. There is an optional written exam when required by organizational, local, or state regulation. Online portion and skills must be completed within 45 days. ASHI OPIOID OVERDOSE AND BYSTANDER USE OF NALOXONE 
 This online video will give you the knowledge to recognize someone you suspect may be using opioids and also will show you how to use naloxone, most commonly called Narcan. This is an ONLINE class only, and like all of the other blended courses, you will be asked questions along the way, and also an online exam which consists of 12 questions. You must answer 9 out of the 12 to pass. You will also get a 2 year certification for this that you print out.

ASHI STOP LIFE THREATENING BLEEDING AKA STOP THE BLEED

The HSI Stop Life-Threatening Bleeding program is a completly revised and updated training program, integrating the latest and new Stop Life-Threatening Bleeding procedure. This program uses step by step procedure and skill guide to provide guidance for assessing, prioritizing, and stopping life-threatening bleeding based on scientific evidence, national guidelines, and the consensus of experts. HSI Stop Life-Threatening Bleeding is an excellent supplement (must have basic first aid) to our CPR and First Aid programs. The Stop Life-Threatening Bleeding program teaches participants how to: Assess the safety of the scene, take standard precautions using appropriate Person Protective Equipment (PPE), evaluate a person to determine whether they have life-threatening bleeding, activating EMS or your emergency action plan (EAP), and to stop life-threatening bleeding by manual pressure, wound packing, and/or applying a tourniquet. HSI Stop Life-Threatening Bleeding has been approved by the HSI Medical Advisory Board and reviewed by HSI Advisory Council. It reflects the latest resuscitation science and treatment recommendations published by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) and conforms with the 2020 American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC and the annual guidelines update.

2025 AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION BLS HEARTCODE SKILLS

 The AHA BLS Heartcode online is a self-directed, comprehensive elearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to aquire and demonstrate Basic Life Support skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real time to a learner's performance. The program is designed to healthcare proffesionals who need Basic Life Support training for their clinical duties. Utilizing a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, Cognitive Assessment Activities, illustrations, knowledge checks and interactive activities, this program teaches BLS knowledge and skills. This method of learning provides training consistency and adaptability to defferent learning styles. Students can work at their own pace applying their knowledge to real-time decision making. Debreifings and coaching are provided immediately after each knowledge check and each Cognitive Assessment Activity. Students who successfully complete the cognitive portion and the hands-on skills session with Adirondack Health & Safety, will receive an AHA BLS Provider course completion card (ecard), valid for two years.
